Decatur Police respond to crash at McDonald’s

MACON COUNTY, Ill. (WCIA) — The Decatur Police Department said no one was seriously hurt after a crash Tuesday. Officers said it was at the Mt. Zion McDonald’s located off of Route 121 by the Route 36 intersection in Decatur. DPD has not released the cause of the crash.

Parking Details For Lake Shelbyville 4th Of July Fireworks

The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers is gearing up for the 4th of July at Lake Shelbyville. Fireworks will be launched at dusk from Ramp Point, located in Dam West Recreation Area. Lake Shelbyville has compiled a list of locations best suited for viewing the fireworks. Locations include Dam West Recreation Area, Dam East Recreation Area, Lake Shelbyville Visitor Center, portions of the road across the Dam, and Dam West Overlook. The road across the Dam will remain CLOSED due to the maintenance equipment stationed on the road. Pedestrians will be allowed to sit on partial portions of the road by the Visitor Center and Dam West Overlook.

With a majority of precincts reporting, Deering emerged on top of opponents Jesse Reising of Decatur, Matt Hausman of Pesotum, and Terry Martin of Chatham. The Taylorville Kiwanis Club heard from the new Taylorville Police Explorers chapter, during the weekly meeting at the Taylorville Moose Lodge on Tuesday. Taylorville Police Officer Jody Grove, along with Officer Nickolas Todd and Dispatcher Kayleigh Boston, shared with Kiwanis members about the new Taylorville Police Explorers chapter, which is the law enforcement equivalent of Scouts, that teaches life skills to youth age 14 to 21. 5 members of the newly-formed chapter also shared why they’re a member of the new Explorers chapter, which is the only chapter in Central Illinois.
