Oakdale, LA (KPLC) - An audit in the City of Oakdale accuses a now-deceased city clerk of stealing nearly $360,000 for personal use. At a June 3 meeting of the Oakdale City Council, CPA Royce Scimemi presented a financial report outlining fraud and the misappropriation of funds among other items.

Crowley High FFA makes great showing at State Convention

Crowley High School’s FFA chapter received multiple awards at the recently-held 92nd Louisiana FFA State Convention. Crowley FFA Chapter President Drake Washington received his State FFA degree, which is the highest award bestowed on members by the state association. Crowley High’s Food Science Career Development Event teams placed fifth and sixth in the state. In the National Chapter Award program, Crowley FFA was chosen as the leader in both the Growing Leaders and Building Communities divisions. Additionally, Crowley FFA received the National Chapter Award for Best Overall Chapter in the state. Suspect in MLK Park shooting in Church Point surrenders

A Church Point man was booked into the Church Point Police Department Jail on several charges following a May 26 incident at Martin Luther King Park.
