DUFFIELD, Va. (WYMT) - State authorities are investigating an inmate’s death at the Southwest Virginia Regional Jail in Duffield. The Virginia State Police said its Bureau of Criminal Investigation’s Wytheville Field Office launched an investigation into the May 20 death of inmate Sherri D. Cook, 43 of Whitesburg, Kentucky.

Police Searching for Suspect in a Jewelry Store Robbery in Pikeville

The Pikeville Police Department is searching for a suspect that stole from a jewelry store. Police said the man walked into Kay Jewelers in Pikeville Wednesday afternoon. Reports say the man asked to see merchandise from a case and walked out with nearly $4,000 worth of jewelry. Police said he got into a gold or silver early 2000′s Toyota Camry. Police are looking for a white man, possibly in his 40′s, with brown and gray hair. If anyone has any information, you are asked to call 606-437-5511.

Kentucky Office of Rural Health Seeks Applications for Elder Wellness Enrichment Initiative Grant

TyTy Washington selected 29th in the NBA Draft
