Vietnam Moving Wall Memorial Makes Stop in Elmira

The Vietnam Moving Wall Memorial is on display through July 4th at Eldrige Park in Elmira. It is one of two replicas of the Vietnam Veterans Memorial and is the half-size replica of the Washington D.C. version. Organizers say the Wall will be open to the public for 24 hours until July 4th.

New Homeless Shelter Being Constructed

WELLSBORO – There is a brand new Homeless Shelter being constructed in Tioga County. In the past ten years of operating the previous smaller shelter they were able to assist over 1,000 people, including families and singles. This new shelter will provide benevolent homeless services to the residents of the future that find themselves in need. Veterans resources available at Moving Wall

ELMIRA, N.Y. (WENY) -- There are an array of resources all veterans can take advantage of at the Vietnam Moving Wall Memorial throughout the week. Many organizations focused on veterans have set up outside the Moving Wall this week to offer information and support. The different organizations are offering resources from learning more about health benefits, claims, and support services. Some of the resources available look to provide services regarding military trauma, suicide prevention, nursing home care, and other medical services. The Bath VA is one of these organizations on-site with their mobile service center. They also have a therapist at the wall offering mental health support to veterans who may be having a tough time.
