Paducah Police seek help finding a man wanted in several counties

Paducah Police are seeking the public’s help in finding a man wanted in several counties. Police said 32-year-old Andrew P. Lowery is accused of using a stolen check to purchase a motorcycle from a local business earlier this month. The check, and several other checks, were reported stolen by a Livingston County resident. Lowery also has outstanding warrants in McCracken, Livingston and Carlisle counties.

Two sent to the hospital after single vehicle crash on I-57

EFFINGHAM COUNTY (WAND)- The Illinois State Police are investigating a single vehicle crash, that sent two individuals to the hospital Friday afternoon. According to Police, Marius N. Jackson, 62, of Sturgis, Kentucky, and an eight-year-old male were traveling northbound on Interstate 57 at Milepost 164 in Effingham County, when the vehicle left the roadway into the center median, over-corrected, left the roadway to the right, and overturned into an adjacent field.

PADUCAH — The Paducah Middle School Site Based Decision Making Council has chosen Wes Newsome to be the new Paducah Middle School assistant principal. According to a release sent today, Newsome has nine years of teaching experience. He reportedly began teaching at Paducah Tilghman Highschool as the English as a Second Language Teacher and yearbook advisor. Recently, he was on the Paducah Instructional Team as a District Instructional Coach.

According to the indictments, a federal grand jury in Paducah returned three indictments in May, charging three men with firearm offenses. The grand jury indicted 43-yer-old Shaun Powers of Hopkinsville on charges of illegal possession of a machine gun, 30-year-old Cleve Nedd, Jr. of Hopkinsville, charged with being a felon in possession of a firearm and 22-year-old Anthony Jones of Indianapolis, Indiana, on charges of engaging in the business of dealing firearms and illegal possession of a machine gun.
