Early voting ends in Athens and around the state

Today is the last day of early voting in Athens and around the state, with voters casting ballots in advance of next Tuesday’s election day. Early voting sites in Athens include the Elections Office on Washington Street, the Library on Baxter Street, and the Miriam Moore Community Center on McKinley Drive. There is also the Extension Office in Bogart, the East Athens Tennis Center, and the Depot in Winterville. Early voting in Oconee County takes place at the Elections Office on Court Street in Watkinsville.

NE Ga police blotter includes Franklin Co bank robbery

The Franklin County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a Tuesday bank robbery, a hold-up at the First Citizens Bank in Carnesville. An Elbert County man is arrested on robbery charges in Hall County: 20 year-old Kashani Colbourne was booked into the Hall County jail after allegedly using a gun in a holdup at a Best Buy store in Gainesville, stealing several laptop computers.

NE Ga police blotter: drug, fraud, forgery suspects arrested

A 52 year-old woman from Bowman is booked into the Elbert County jail on charges that include making terroristic threats. Bond for Angela Moore was set at $5 thousand. The Elbert County Sheriff’s Office says Charles Haynes is facing felony charges that include deposit account fraud: he’s 41 years old, from Elberton.
