Despite torrential downpours Sunday afternoon, two Washington county teens tapped the mic with the courage to perform for family, friends and patrons of a local caffeine drip. “This is creating that place for them to play and sing that’s not only in a choir and here, with music they choose,” said Jocelyn Adelsburger, after a successful second Sunday open mic afternoon at Jeremiah’s Coffee Shop in Marietta. “They don’t have to be pros, but here’s another place to hone that skill and potentially play for your first audience.”

Woodsfield swimming pool opening delayed

WOODSFIELD — A waterline break has delayed the opening of the Woodsfield Memorial Pool, which was set to open late last week. The swimming pool was set to open June 4 but that date has since been postponed. Steve Eikleberry, pool manager, said they are hoping to open the pool up to swimmers Friday; however, that date could be extended to as late as Monday.
