John Allen Woods, 96, of Beasley, Texas passed away on June 24, 2022. He was born Jan. 4, 1926, in Yorktown to the late Leonard and Mary Gee Woods. John married the love of his life Shirley Ruth Childress in September 1956 in Itasca, Texas. John served in the US Army and Army Air core for four years. John loved working on cars, woodworking and his family.

Dianne is survived by her husband Lloyd Nelson of Louise; daughter Karen Middlebrook and husband Don Al of El Campo; son Eric Nelson and wife Jenny of Louise; grandchildren Andrew Nelson of Louise and Emma Weschler of Houston; sister Loyce Balas of Fredericksburg; and brother Jack Thormahlen.

Franklin Baker

Franklin Baker, 89, of Wharton, passed away peacefully at 12:05 p.m. on Saturday, June 25, 2022, at his residence with family by his side. Born April 5, 1933, in Wyandot County, he was the son of the late Allen and Fairy (Howard) Baker. He married Betty J. Wise on April 10, 1954, in Wharton. Betty preceded him in death on April 17, 2015.
