NY Sisters Arrested After Brutalizing Each Other in Front of 5 Kids: Cops

Two New York sisters in their 30s have been arrested for allegedly physically brutalizing one another as five children watched, police said Wednesday. Police responding to a call about a domestic dispute at a Dutchtown Road home in Ulster County's Saugerties on the Fourth of July found both 33-year-old Mia and 32-year-old Lani Smith hurt, authorities said.

Why Is A Giant Head Watching You Drive In Upstate New York?

Do you ever get the feeling someone is watching you while driving? On a portion of New York's Taconic State Parkway, a giant head is truly watching you drive by. The 19-foot hollow plaster head on a hillside is the art work of Roy Kanwit. Ron makes sculptures that are scattered all over the park. For an entrance fee, you can go see and interact with them. Fourth of July Fire Chars Morningside Multifamily Home

PITTSFIELD, Mass. — A two-alarm structure fire on the Fourth of July charred the front portion of a Morningside multifamily but caused no injuries. The blaze at 91-93 Orchard St. was reported at about 10 p.m. on Monday. Firefighters found heavy fire and smoke coming from the front of the building.

Suspect in armed home invasions in Winsted found with 350 fentanyl pills, police say

WINSTED — Police said they found hundreds of fentanyl pills while taking a man wanted for an armed home invasion into custody. Investigators determined that Edwin Martinez, 21, was a second suspect in an attempted armed home invasion on Wheeler Street on Wednesday. He was also wanted on an active warrant out of Connecticut State Police’s Troop A in Southbury, the Winchester Police Department said in a Facebook post.
