GODFREY — The Beverly Farm fireworks are scheduled for Sunday, June 27, the weekend prior to the long Fourth of July holiday weekend. Fireworks start at 9:30 p.m., but guests can arrive as early as 8:30 p.m., at Beverly Farm, 6301 Humbert Road, in Godfrey, to pick out a viewing spot.

About 18 volunteers harvested and bundled about 2000 bunches of lavender on Wednesday, June 9, 2021, in St. Louis' College Hill neighborhood. Working jointly with Long Row Lavender of Wright City, the College Hill Foundation grows the fragrant plants on several empty city lots in the north-side neighborhood and uses all proceeds for basic home repairs, like roofing, tuck pointing and sewer fixes for residents there. Next year, the foundation hopes for fives times the amount of volunteers to harvest more lavender than the 4,000 bunches they yielded this year.
