One Dead, Multiple Injured In South Baltimore Crash Involving 5 Vehicles

BALTIMORE (WJZ) — One person died in a crash involving multiple vehicles Tuesday afternoon in South Baltimore, police said. Officers responded at 12:26 p.m. to the 900 block of West Patapsco Avenue, where they found a crash involving five vehicles. Police said one vehicle was overturned. The driver of the overturned vehicle was pronounced dead on the scene. Police said the drivers and occupants of the other vehicles suffered non-life-threatening injuries, but it was not immediately clear how many are injured or how severe those injuries are. The crash is under investigation by Baltimore Police.

According to officials, city firefighters arrived at the 900 block of West Patapsco Avenue around 12:30 p.m. for a reported car accident with an overturned vehicle and entrapment. The driver of the overturned vehicle was pronounced dead at the scene by medics.

Father shot, killed during apparent road rage incident in Northeast DC, police say

WASHINGTON (FOX 5 DC) - A man was shot and killed in what appears to be a road rage incident in Northeast DC on Saturday, according to the Metropolitan Police Department. MPD says the incident occured in the 1700 block of West Virginia Avenue NE around 4:47 p.m. Officers responded for the report of a shooting and located an adult male victim suffering from an apparent gunshot wound.

Man Caught With 30 Pounds Of Cocaine Hidden In Wheelchair At BWI Airport

BALTIMORE (WJZ) — A New Jersey man was caught with 30 pounds of cocaine hidden inside his electric wheelchair last week at BWI Airport, U.S. Customs and Border Protection said Tuesday. Gabriel Ruiz, 34, of Union City, NJ is charged with felony narcotics importation and possession. He was arrested by Maryland Transportation Authority officers at the Baltimore airport on Monday, June 21 after arriving from Punta Cana, Dominican Republic. Officials said 13 plastic-wrapped cocaine bricks were found in the man’s Jazzy 614 electric wheelchair after the wheelchair was x-rayed. The bricks were positively identified as cocaine after officers used field test kits. Credit: US Customs and Border Protection The CBP said the bricks had a combined weight of 30 pounds and three ounces and had an estimated street value of nearly $1 million. The State’s Attorney in Anne Arundel County, Anne Colt Leitess, is prosecuting Ruiz.

Man, 24, Killed In Northeast Baltimore Shooting, Police Say

BALTIMORE (WJZ) — A 24-year-old man has died of his injuries after he was shot Monday night in Northeast Baltimore, authorities said. Patrol officers called to a shooting in the 2600 block of Robb Street shortly before 11 p.m. found Makeon Hines shot multiple times, Baltimore Police said. Hines was taken to a hospital but did not survive. No information about a possible suspect or motive was released.
