Crash cleared on eastbound Beltline near Monona

MADISON, Wis. (WMTV) - A crash Friday on the eastbound lanes of the Madison Beltline near Monona shut down lanes for just under an hour going into Memorial Day weekend. The Wisconsin Department of Transportation sent out an alert around 5:40 p.m. Friday, saying the two right lanes of US 12/18 eastbound near the Yahara River Bridge were blocked due to a crash.

COVID-19 in Wisconsin: 10 counties with high community levels, down from 18

MADISON, Wis. (WBAY) – The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention indicates the spread of the COVID-19 virus is abating. The latest look at community levels of the coronavirus show 10 have high levels compared to 18 a week ago. Twenty-four counties have medium, or elevated, levels, compared to 35 a week ago. The remaining 38 counties have low community levels of the virus.

Protesters rally for high wages, support for Madison teachers

MADISON, Wis. — Protesters gathered in front of Madison schools Friday to rally for higher wages and more support for the teachers inside. Organizers for the “Rally to Defend Our Schools” said the Madison Metropolitan School District is failing its students and its staff. Protesters demanded higher pay for substitute teachers and support staff and cost of living adjustments for full-time teachers.
