Acting United States Attorney Steven Russell announced that Vallen Bateman, 36, of Hastings, Nebraska, was sentenced on June 24, 2022, in federal court in Omaha, Nebraska, for possession with intent to distribute 50 grams or more of methamphetamine. Chief United States District Judge Robert F. Rossiter, Jr. sentenced Bateman to 66 months’ imprisonment. There is no parole in the federal system. After her release from prison, she will begin a five-year term of supervised release.
The burial grounds are the last remnant of a mental health complex, formerly known as the Ingleside Hospital for the Insane, that once served 2,000 patients.

HASTINGS, Neb. (KSNB) - It will be a hot and breezy day in Hastings as temperatures climb in the mid 90s on Wednesday. Wednesday morning will start off mild with lows in the mid to upper 60s. Temperatures will rise throughout the day into the mid to upper 90s in the tri-cities with triple digits in the western parts of the state. Isolated showers and thunderstorms are expected in the far north and far west however, it should be mostly sunny. There is a marginal risk for some of those storms to become strong to severe from the Panhande to just east of Ainsworth with damaging winds being the primary concern. It will be a breezier day with south winds at 15-25 mph with gusts up to 35 mph throughout the state as well. With those breezy conditions the fire danger will increase and there is a red flag warning until 8PM Wednesday night for areas north and west.

HASTINGS, Neb. (KSNB) - Almost a year to the day after filming his comedy special in his hometown of Hastings, Nick Hoff is ready to release it to his growing fan base. Hoff stopped into our Local4 studios Monday to detail the exciting news - which is a planned release date of July 15. The release will come on his YouTube page. He, along with fellow comic Mal Hall entertained crowds at the Hastings Masonic Temple Theater in July of 2021. Hoff said it was important to return home for his comedy special, as it’s where he developed his love for comedy.

Winds will increase out of the south up to 10 to 20 mph. That will help boost high temperatures into the 80s with the warmest upper 80s in the northwest. Winds will lighten up a little tonight and skies will be mostly clear as lows drop into the mid to upper 50s and lower 60s. South southwest winds will pick back up again on Tuesday under mainly sunny skies. The heat starts to crank up a bit more with highs from the upper 80s southeast to the mid 90s west. It’ll remain a bit breezy and mostly clear Tuesday night with lows mostly in the 60s.
FREMONT, Neb. (KSNB) - The Hastings Sodbusters traveled to Fremont Monday for a doubleheader with the Moo. Hastings won the series against Fremont last week at Duncan Field, but Monday had the opposite result. A home run by Garrett Kennedy on the first pitch of the first game was the only score for the Sodbusters in a 2-1 loss. That was followed up by getting walked off for a 10-9 loss in game two of the day.
