There was an organ grinder with his trained monkey to entertain the crowds, a man going under the name “Mr. Twist” who made all sorts of balloon creatures, and puppet (marionette) shows. They also had a drawing where they gave away a five hundred dollar shopping spree (charge account) to one lucky winner.

Man, woman injured after motorcycle hits truck in Jackson County

JACKSON COUNTY, MI -- A poorly timed turn left two people in the hospital with serious injuries this week, police said. At about 6:30 p.m. Monday, June 27, officers from the Blackman-Leoni Department of Public Safety responded to a crash between a truck and a motorcycle in the area of Lansing Avenue and Peacock Walk, north of Jackson.

Fractured nose, torn eardrum: Miles Bridges’ wife shares disturbing photos of alleged assault

Mychelle Johnson, the wife of Charlotte Hornets forward Miles Bridges, is speaking out against her husband following his arrest for felony domestic violence. In a series of photos and videos posted to social media, Johnson said she suffered a fractured nose, a fractured wrist, a torn eardrum, torn muscles in her neck, a “severe concussion” and said she was choked until she “went to sleep.”

Police ask for public’s help finding missing Lansing man

LANSING, Mich. (WILX) - Lansing Police are asking for the public to help them find a man who is missing and may be in danger. The family of Bruce Gant has reported him as missing and police believe he may be in danger due to mental health issues. Jackson man facing life in prison after unlawful imprisonment, CSC conviction

JACKSON, Mich. (WILX) - A Jackson man is facing life in prison after being convicted of Criminal Sexual Conduct 1st Degree, Unlawful Imprisonment and other crimes. Kenneth Walker lll was one of the best players in college football last season. For Michigan State he rushed for 1,636 yards on 263 carries, scored 18 rushing touchdowns and 1 receiving touchdown, chipping in 13 catches for 89 yards. As a result of those numbers, he won the Doak Walker award which goes to the best running back in the country, and he finished sixthin the Heisman Trophy voting. The Seahawks invested the 41st overall pick in the 2022 NFL Draft in Walker lll with the hopes that he can translate those numbers into success at the NFL level. Man shot at Holmes and Waverly in Lansing
