Loveland Colorado Boutique Hotel Has a Unique History

It's tucked away behind Perkins and Pizza Hut, and it's a piece of Loveland Colorado's history. Today, it's a five-bedroom boutique hotel with themed rooms and a museum. I'm not sure how I came across the Oasis on Eisenhower, but I'm definitely glad that I did. There are plenty of places to stay in Loveland, but none of them compare to this one-of-a-kind boutique hotel.

Opinion: A beautiful synchronicity, in peril

Sixty years ago, I lived just a few hundred feet from the banks of Cherry Creek, which was lined with groves of majestic cottonwood trees. And every year, as summer approached, we kids enjoyed the “snow.” It wasn’t the wet snow of winter, but that of near-summer: a profusion of cottonwood seeds, attached to “cotton” tufts, blowing in the breeze. In my memory, it piled up like snowflakes ankle-deep.

BMX benefit honors the lives of local family killed in crash

GILLETTE — The entire crowd was silent as Haden Everts slowly began his trek downward from the starting gate at the Razor City BMX race track. The words from MercyMe’s song “I Can Only Imagine” echoed around him as he went up and over the jumps and around the berms of the dirt track. He wore a white jersey with a golden number one on the back, which was decorated on either side with sunflowers and red roses.

Bear relocated after climbing into tree in Safeway parking lot

A bear had to be relocated this week in Loveland after it found its way up a tree at a Safeway parking lot off Highway 34.The bear was a young female. It was running through neighborhoods in the northern Colorado city before it climbed up into the tree.Wildlife officers were able to safely get the bear down after tranquilizing it. They released it back into the wild after that.

35 people begin Fourth weekend by becoming citizens

Thirty five people were welcomed as U.S. citizens on Friday in Greeley just ahead of Independence Day. The newest citizens reside in northern Colorado and come from 12 different countries including Burma, Canada, Colombia, El Salvador, Ethiopia, Italy, Mexico, Peru, Somalia, Thailand, the United Kingdom and Vietnam, according to the U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services.
