Mrs. Lillian Watson of Melfa passed away at home in the early morning hours of July 1, 2022. She was 96. She is survived by her Daughters, Florence Alice (Runge) of Baltimore, Kathleen Frances (Denworth) of Florida, and Evelyn Jean (Shaeffer) of Florida, grandsons Frank Anthony III and Jason Scott Runge, and Lawrence Merrill Jester III. She has one Great Grandaughter, Kailey Anne Runge.

Cool things happening on the Shore this weekend

The 68th annual Wachapreague Volunteer Fireman’s Carnival wraps up it’s run Saturday night. One last chance for oyster, clam fritter, soft crab, crab cake, or hamburger sandwiches. Rides and Bingo are also featured along with live music, and a raffle of a golf cart from Shore Custom Carts.

Council Needs Makeover

It’s time for a change. The town of Onley needs a good makeover. Elections are coming up this November and we need an entirely new council. It is very sad that only a few people come to the meetings. I can understand why. The meetings are long and drawn out and very little gets accomplished. The council members vote on things, forget that they voted on a subject, and months later vote again on the same topic that was already voted on.

Boys & Girls Club participates in Field Ad at Sawmill Park

The Boys & Girls Club held a Field Day recently at Sawmill Park in Accomac hosted by the Parent Committee. The youth enjoyed activities such as kickball, dodgeball, 3-leg racing, ring toss, tug-of-war, the bounce house and water balloons. Christopher Mathews prepared hot dogs and cheeseburgers, and Steve Walker provided the ice cream truck. Club members received medals recognizing their achievements.
