ROCHELLE, GA – Once they’re able to turn the water back on in the Newtown section of Rochelle, they’ll be under a boil advisory. Rochelle Mayor Wayne McGuinty says crews are working to restore water service on the west side of town, after an overnight rupture to a water line.

MGA’s Aerobatics Club Takes Flight

At age 28, Middle Georgia State University (MGA) aviation student Angela Rogers is rolling (and looping and spinning) into her second career as a professional pilot. Originally from Destin, Fla., Rogers decided to leave behind her job as a manager of pilots at an Air Force base to become a professional pilot herself. She enrolled at MGA and will graduate with her B.S. in Aviation Science and Management in spring 2023. But in addition to taking part in standard pilot training, Rogers is a big part of the amazing world of aerobatics.

Telfair guard accused of accepting bribes to allow smuggled items into prison

DUBLIN, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) — A federal prison guard is being charged after accepting bribes to allow smuggled material into a prison. The Department of Justice says 35-year-old Tiffany Fletcher of McRae is being charged with 5 counts of bribery — which can carry a statutory penalty of up to 15 years in prison, with financial penalties and up to 3 years of supervised release after the completed prison term. According to the DOJ, Fletcher worked as a correctional officer at the McRae Correctional Facility in Telfair County, which houses male inmates under contract with the federal Bureau of Prisons. Fletcher is being accused of accepting 5 cash bribes worth a total $4,390 from June to December 2019, and in return she failed to report or investigate prohibited objects being brought into the facility.

Correctional Officer Charged With Bribery

A Correctional officer working at a private prison in McRae has been charged with accepting bribes. According to the United States Department of Justice, Tiffany Fletcher, who worked at McRae Correctional Facility, a private prison operated by CoreCivic, under contract with the federal Bureau of Prisons, accepted five cash bribes from inmates totaling almost $4,400 from June to December of 2019 to [quote] “turn a blind eye to contraband being brought into the prison."
