Husband & Wife in Motorcycle Crash, Wife Airlifted to Hospital

Suffolk County Police Seventh Squad detectives are investigating a motor vehicle crash that injured a motorcyclist and seriously injured a passenger last night. Justino Lopez was operating a Kawasaki motorcycle with his wife as a passenger, heading northbound on Titmus Drive, when he lost control of the motorcycle near Ardmour Drive and crashed at 9:54 p.m.

He fled in a black Acura with Florida license plates.

Powerball ticket worth $50K sold in Oswego

OSWEGO, N.Y. (WWTI) — The New York Lottery announced that two third-prize winning tickets worth $50,000 for the June 25 Powerball drawing were sold in New York. The winning tickets had four matching numbers and the Powerball number and were sold in Oswego and Smithtown. The prize-winning tickets were purchased at Cheap Seats Sports Bar and Grill on Hillside Avenue in Oswego and the Speedway store on the Smithtown Bypass in Smithtown.

Bay Shore’s Fire Island Ferries increase fare prices

Fire Island Ferries, Inc. — the ferry service out of Bay Shore Marina — recently announced a rise in all ferry, freight, and water taxi fares beginning June 25. The service includes trips between Bay Shore and the following areas in Fire Island: Kismet, Saltaire, Fair Harbor, Dunewood, Atlantique, Ocean Beach, Seaview and Ocean Bay Park.

The ship was aptly named the “Adventure of the Seas” because 24 hours before they were to depart Cape Liberty, Bayonne, New Jersey, they were informed that the ship was now sailing north to Canada due to Tropical Storm Alex. Even though they had the option to rebook, Jared and Emily repacked for Canadian weather and took the cruise. They visited Nova Scotia and New Brunswick and despite winning and losing $1,100 playing poker had an amazing time on their redirected Love Boat adventure!
