Two dead after shooting near Lansing River Trail

LANSING, Mich. (WILX) - Two people are dead and two more are hospitalized after an early morning shooting near Lansing River Trail. At approximately 1 a.m. Monday, Lansing Police responded to a report of shots fired in the 300 block of North Cedar St near Rotary Park. Officers arrived and found a 19-year-old male with apparent gunshot wounds. He was pronounced dead on the scene.

Perry Storm Chaser Records Supercell T-Storm + Hail in Shiawassee County [VIDEO]

Take a look at the YouTube video below from a storm chaser in Shiawassee County who recorded seeing a supercell thunderstorm that produced golf ball to tennis ball-sized hail. YouTuber Robert Forry recorded the video on Saturday (6/12) evening as he drove along M-52 (and other areas) just north of Perry, Michigan. He notes in the video that the storm occurred around 6:45 pm.

I have been back home in Michigan for almost 4 years now. And it's been about 4 years since the last Gizzard Fest. On more than one occasion I have been asked about chicken gizzards, Joe's Gizzard City, and Gizzard Fest. After letting folks I do indeed enjoy and get down with chicken gizzards, I regrettably let them know that sadly I have never been to the latter two.

Iconic Grand Blanc Smokestack Coming Down At The Perry Center

The Perry Center in Grand Blanc is celebrating their centennial next year, but the building will be missing an iconic piece when they do celebrate. It was announced this weekend that the towering smokestack at the Perry Center in Grand Blanc would be coming down this week. The smokestack has become structurally unsound and building officials made the decision to take it down before it could possibly fall. The smokestack has been a Grand Blanc landmark since going up in 1952, but officials are planning on returning the building to an even earlier point in history.
