Mass was celebrated at 1 p.m., Saturday, June 25, 2022, at St. Peter’s Catholic Church, in Olton, with Fr. John Smith officiating. Federico Hernandez, 93, of Littlefield passed away Wednesday, June 22, 2022 at home. He was born March 2, 1929 in Mexico to Pedro Hernandez and Felicitas Martinez Hernandez. Federico married Maria Luisa in 1958 in Rio Grande, TX. The couple moved to Littlefield 43 years ago. He was a hardworker and liked to work in his yard. At 93 years old, he remained active and busy, and could often be found outside tending to something. Federico was an excellent storyteller and he loved telling stories of the “old days” and of his time in Mexico. He was proud of his heritage.

BOB EDWARDS CELEBRATED 89 YEARS Saturday, April 23, when he was treated royally by his family, to a Birthday Celebration in the Ag and Community Center. Edwards was born in Littlefield on April 21, 1933, and many of his relatives came to help him celebrate again this year. He is shown visitng a relative, Leon Reed, his wife’s cousin from Anton. Edwards said they fed 231 people last year, and received $2,517 in cash, along with the food for the New Mexico Children’s Home. He was hoping the turnout would be much better this year. This year, he caught 26 gallon bags of fish at Lake Buchanan, that were fried Saturday. (Staff Photo by Joella Lovvorn)
