Update 12:30 pm Wednesday - Information from a fire official on the scene of the Shoestring Fire - as of Noon today (Wed) an estimated 2,000 acres has burned. The fire is still not contained. Numerous Coleman County Volunteer Fire Departments are on scene including Talpa, South Coleman County, Valera, Coleman, Burkett and Novice. Precinct 3 and Precinct 4 county equipment is also being used.

The Brownwood Police Department issued the following press release Tuesday morning:. On September 10, 2021, the Brownwood Police Department received a report of Indecent Exposure at a residence in the 1800blk of 1st St. The report indicated that a male was invited to the home by a good Samaritan so that he could pick up food items. While visiting with the lady inside her home the male began exposing himself and touching himself in a sexual manner. This behavior continued for several minutes until others arrived at the home to confront him. A report was generated at this time.

Earlier this week I had to be on the road for a professional association meeting that was held in Brownwood, Texas. I have made that journey many times over the years and always enjoyed seeing the countryside. I have made that trip both in the spring and in the winter in years past.
