FDA bans Juul vaporizers from US market

LANSING, Mich. (WLUC) - The FDA announced in a press release Thursday that it is banning the sale of Juul products across the U.S., including Michigan. This includes Juul vaporizers, Juul 5.0% and 3.0% Virginia tobacco pods and Juul 5.0% and 3.0% menthol pods. The FDA added that it believes Juul vaporizers, “have played a disproportionate role in the rise in youth vaping.”

Performances in the Park Kicks Off Summer Concerts in Copper Harbor Tonight

Performances in the Park enjoys the sounds of their first summer concerts tonight. The summer series is presented by the Copper Harbor Improvement Association, and takes place in the heart of Copper Harbor at Donny Kilpela Memorial Park, centrally located along Gratiot Street. HOUGHTON/HANCOCK/CALUMET – Farmers market season is kicking off in the Copper Country. Houghton’s market was in its new location on top of the downtown parking deck last week. The event will be at the new location until construction on the pier is finished. The Hancock Tori returned to Quincy Green on Thursday. And the Calumet Farmers Market returns for the second time this summer on Saturday. From the Ground Farmers Market Collective is the organization that runs the three markets. The non-profit received an incredible gift just in time for farmers markets opening.

On June 14, alumni, friends and family of Finlandia University joined together in support of Giving Day 2022 in an effort to raise money for student textbooks. Determined to find a way to give back to students, Finlandia’s Alumni Board (FAB) started Giving Day in 2019 and has since raised more than $60,000 in its efforts.

Michigan Woman Injured In Car-Deer Crash North Of Sheldon

Sheldon, Iowa — A Michigan woman was injured shortly before 2:00 Tuesday morning when the vehicle in which she as a passenger struck a deer north of Sheldon. According to the O’Brien County Sheriff’s Office, the mishap occurred two miles north of Sheldon on Highway 60, when a southbound 2015 Subaru Legacy, driven by 39-year-old Reid Devoge of Chassell, Michigan struck a deer in the roadway.

One hurt when car hits deer near Sheldon

SHELDON—One person was injured in a car-deer accident about 1:50 a.m. Tuesday, June 21, on the Highway 60 expressway near Sheldon. Thirty-nine-year-old Reid Clifford DeVoge of Chassell, MI, was driving south on the expressway when his 2015 Subaru Legacy struck a deer near the 300th Street intersection about two miles northeast of Sheldon, according to the O’Brien County Sheriff’s Office.
