The rain held off Saturday night to provide a beautiful evening for the return of the Janice Mason Art Museum’s Dinner on Main fundraiser. The tables set up on Main Street in downtown Cadiz were filled with Janice Mason Art Museum supporters enjoying fellowship and delicious food. Region 1 tennis tournament gets started today

MURRAY — The seasons for the Calloway County and Murray High tennis programs have entered their respective home stretches. Starting today, those teams will enter the postseason as the Region 1 Tournament arrives. Matches will be conducted at multiple sites throughout the Paducah area with McCracken County High School serving as the official host. In the past, facilities at Lone Oak, Noble Park, Paducah Tilghman High School and West Kentucky Community & Technical College have been utilized in order to keep the event moving at a decent pace.

Alex Shaverin wins the Paducah Bank Inspiration Award

This spring, Marshall County High School graduate Alex Shaverin has been a Paducah Bank Teen of the Week and an Associated General Contractors of Western Kentucky Technical Center Student of the Week. He’s now been named the 2022 Inspiration Award recipient, taking home one of the two awards in the Paducah Bank Teen of the Week scholarship program.

Caldwell’s Kylee White Earns State Trip in 1,600-Meter Run

A personal-best time has earned Caldwell County eighth grader Kylee White a spot at the Class 2A state track and field championships in Lexington the first week of June. White placed second in the 1,600-meter run in Saturday’s Class 2A 1st Region meet at Paducah Tilghman in a time of 5:52.11. That was White’s best time ever.

Two Injured In Monday Interstate 24 Crash

A Paducah man and woman were injured in a single-vehicle wreck on Interstate 24 in Christian County Monday morning. Christian County Sheriff’s deputies say an SUV was eastbound when it ran off the road and hit the cable barriers around the 80-mile marker. The driver and passenger were both taken by ambulance to Jennie Stuart Medical Center for injuries.

Rain returns to the weather forecast this week and there are a couple chances of a strong thunderstorm or two.
