Rays on wrong end of ‘catch of the year’

ST. PETERSBURG — The Rays were on the wrong end of one of the best plays of the season in Wednesday’s 5-3 loss to the Brewers. In the bottom of the second inning, Randy Arozarena blasted a pitch to deep centerfield. Milwaukee’s Jonathan Davis sprinted after it and made a full-extension diving grab. His head slammed into the wall, sending his hat flying, but Davis somehow held onto the ball.

Temple Terrace memorial honors Florida's four-legged heroes

TEMPLE TERRACE, Fla. — In honor of our four-legged heroes, the City of Temple Terrace and the Nam Knights of Westside Motorcycle Club unveiled a new K-9 memorial. The memorial, unveiled at Temple Terrace City Hall, features a bronze statue of Aramis, a Temple Terrace K-9 whose watch ended on June 17, 2021. The Nam Knights raised approximately $30,000 to build the memorial.

Brewers' Jonathan Davis makes spectacular catch in 2nd inning vs Rays

Milwaukee Brewers center fielder Jonathan Davis potentially made the catch of the year Wednesday afternoon against the Tampa Bay Rays. The incredible play came in the second inning with Randy Arozarena batting for the Rays. He hit a deep fly ball to center field at Tropicana Stadium and Davis was able to track it down to make a diving over-the-shoulder catch for the out. He would faceplant onto the padding in center field.

Teen shot in face while leaving her own birthday party, family says

MEMPHIS, Tenn. (WREG) — An 18-year-old was shot in the face while leaving her own birthday party over the weekend, family says. Breanna Keys was hit by a stray bullet Friday in the 500 block of Marianna Street just before 9:30 p.m. WREG went to the scene and found several vehicles with bullet holes in them. Her mother, Latrice Kennon, said Keys and her boyfriend were both struck while leaving her birthday party.
