A Texas man has been arrested in connection with three strange incidents at the Dallas Zoo, including the stealing of monkeys. On February 2, 2023, Dallas Police arrested Davion Irvin, 24 years old, in connection with the case involving emperor tamarin monkeys at the Dallas Zoo. He has been charged with six counts of animal cruelty (non-livestock) and two counts of burglary.

Curtis Kimberlin, Jr. and his partner, Jonathan, were seeking a room to rent in Dallas, Texas where they would be attending a wedding. According to a screenshot shared on Twitter of an exchange between Jonathan and the Airbnb host, Jonathan explained to the host that he and his partner was going to be in Dallas for the weekend as was in need of a room.

A Texas hospital announced last week that it successfully separated a pair of conjoined twins on January 23, after an 11-hour surgery. AmieLynn Rose and JamieLynn Rae Finley are both recovering after their surgery, which took place at Cook Children’s Medical Center in Fort Worth, Texas. The girls were born prematurely on October 3, 2022, and were connected at the abdomen and shared a single liver, a condition known as omphalopagus twins. Though the National Institute of Health suggests that omphalopagus twins have the best chance at successful separation, it also notes that only 25% of conjoined twins survive long enough to attempt separation surgery.

Deep Ellum has this rich history of taverns and music, not too unlike today. The transitions have been deep cut with controversy both sweet and unforgiving. Deep Ellum was well known as the place to be for blues musicians from as far away as Louisiana, Oklahoma, and Arkansas. Made famous by legendary residents like Blind Lemon Jefferson, Huddie “Lead Belly” Ledbetter, and blues pianist Alex Moore, Deep Ellum also frequently hosted performances by such iconic artists as T-Bone Walker, just starting his career, and Bessie Smith.

After 12 years on the run, the FBI caught a father who was wanted for the murders of his two teenage daughters in 2008. A statement from the FBI says that 63-year-old Yaser Abdel Said was taken into custody without any trouble on Wednesday in Justin, Texas. Sarah Yaser Said, 17, and Amina Yaser Said, 18, both went to Lewisville High School. They both died, and he was wanted for killing them.

Shabu-shabu was introduced in Japan in the 20th century with the opening of the restaurant “Suehiro” in Osaka, where the name was invented. Its origins are traced back to the Chinese hot pot known as instant-boiled mutton.
