State Fair Entertainment is proud and excited to announce STATE FAIR SANTA ANITA PARK in Arcadia happening over 16 days: July 29-August 22 (Thursdays-Sundays from 11:00 AM-10:00 PM). Onsite activities will include all the classics you would expect at a State Fair like fair rides and games, local and national live entertainment, adult beverage sampling, vendor booths, and a designated kids area.

Mark Peel, the chef who opened Spago and helped create California cuisine, dies

Mark Peel, the revolutionary chef who helped pioneer California cuisine and establish Los Angeles as a dining destination, died Sunday. He was 67. Peel died Sunday afternoon at Kaiser Permanente Los Angeles Medical Center on Sunset Boulevard, according to his daughter Vanessa Silverton Peel. He was diagnosed with an aggressive form of cancer only nine days ago, she said.
