Here’s an update on the June 20 Batesville Walmart Supercenter bomb threat. According to Batesville Police, the department responded to a call from the store around 7:50 p.m. Monday. Authorities were told a male caller had contacted the store, and while speaking to a store associate, said he was going to “blow the store up.”

Deputy to be honored by national motorcycle ride Friday

An Independence County Sheriff’s Deputy who died in the line of duty last year will be remembered in June by a Washington state-based group of motorcyclists. The End of Watch Ride to Remember is a group of motorcycle riders that escorts a 40-foot trailer across the country to honor fallen officers from the prior year.

Mountain Home legion baseball teams sweep Clinton

It was a sweep at home for the Mountain Home American Legion baseball teams Thursday night as both picked up wins over Clinton. The Lockeroom team got a big night from Mason Walker in a 7-2 win. Customers and employees of the Batesville Walmart Supercenter were evacuated Monday night after a bomb threat was reportedly received over the phone.
