New Game, Fish & Parks Wildlife Damage Specialist

Serving Stanley, Jones, Western Lyman, & Mellette Counties. Area producers and landowners can contact Joe Kierl when faced with predator or wildlife damage issues in Stanley, Jones, western Lyman, and Mellette Counties. Joe is the new Wildlife Damage Specialist for the South Dakota Game, Fish and Parks (GFP) and is based in Murdo. His focus will primarily be assisting landowners and producers with predator control and resolving wildlife damage issues.

Dallas Yvonne Uthe, age 91, formerly of Presho, SD, passed away peacefully in her sleep on June 15, 2022, at Touchmark at All Saints in Sioux Falls, SD. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am on Friday, June 24th at the Presho Methodist Church in Presho with a viewing one hour prior to the services. Burial will be at the Presho City Cemetery. Daryld Gene Walters passed away peacefully after health complications on May 24th, 2022 at Avera St Mary’s Hospital in Pierre, SD. A memorial service will be held at 10:00am on Friday, June 24th at the American Lutheran Church in Presho with burial to follow at the Presho City Cemetery.

First Annual Trail of Pink Walk

The Cooper Garnos Ranch held the first Trail of Pink Cancer Walk east of Presho on Saturday, June 11. After both battled a bout with cancer, Cooper and Mary Jo Garnos wanted to give back to the community. Cooper was diagnosed with Non-Hodgkins Mantle Cell Lymphoma six years ago and is in remission. Mary Jo was recently diagnosed with Lobular Carcinoma In Situ (LCIS) in 2021 and is cancer free. …
