Pro Skateboarder From Long Beach, 36-Year-Old Terry Kennedy, Arrested, Charged With 1st Degree Murder

OAKBROOK TERRACE, ILL. (CBSLA) – A professional skateboarder from Long Beach, 36-year-old Terry Kennedy, is being held without bail after he allegedly punched and kicked a man from Wheaton who later died. (Photo by David Livingston/Getty Images) Prosecutors allege that Kennedy struck 23-year-old Josiah Kassahun in the head and then kicked him in the torso at a hotel in Oakbrook Terrace, Ill.  on July 27. The victim later died and an autopsy found the cause of death to be blunt force injuries to the head. The DuPage County State’s Attorney Office has charged the 36-year-old with first-degree murder. Kennedy, along with being a well-known skateboarder, has been featured in music videos by artists like Snoop Dogg and Pharrell Williams. He has also appeared in television shows like “Viva La Bam” and Rob Drydrek’s Fantasy Factory.” Kennedy was ordered held without bail while he looks for an attorney. Chicago Rapper Edai 600 Killed At 32

According to several reports and social media tributes, Chicago drill rapper Edai 600 was shot and killed over the weekend. Edai, whose real name is Cordai Ealy, was reportedly shot several times in his back on the early morning of August 1, according to a recording of a Chicago Police scanner. No arrests have been made in the shooting.

Man, 46, fatally shot while driving on Far South Side

CHICAGO — A 46-year-old man was fatally shot while driving on the city’s Far South Side. Police said the man was driving around 4:20 a.m. Monday in the 13100 block of South Eberhart Avenue when he was shot multiple times in the torso. He jumped the curb and crashed into the front of a house, causing minor damage.

Man shot dead in West Town hours after celebrating his 34th birthday

Police are investigating after a man was fatally shot in the back on a West Town sidewalk early Monday. The victim turned 34-years-old on Sunday. Patrol officers heard gunfire in the area around 2:35 a.m. and soon found the victim lying dead on a sidewalk in the 1400 block of West Division, just west of the Near North Montessori School.
