On Friday, 4-Star Florida running back Sedrick Irvin announced his decommitment from the Notre Dame Fighting Irish. When Irvin committed to the Irish back in September, it all made perfect sense on the roster. At the time, Irvin was considered one of the ten best running backs in the nation, and Notre Dame was in sure need of more talent at the position. We knew Kyren Williams was likely to leave and had a pretty good idea that C’Bo Flemister was going to be gone as well. With Logan Diggs, Audric Estime, Jadarian Price, and Chris Tyree scheduled to be on the roster in 2023 adding one back to the class seemed likely. Adding a second back was always an option — but that’s when it gets tricky.
