4 people younger than 18 arrested after robbery at gas station leads to deadly shooting

MADISON, Ill. — Four people under the age of 18 were arrested and charged in connection with the deadly Monday morning shooting of a man in Madison, Illinois. In a press conference, the Major Case Squad of Greater St. Louis announced 17-year-old Derek Miller was charged with first-degree murder, armed robbery and aggravated discharge of a firearm in connection with the shooting death of 35-year-old Gerald Wiley.

Schnuck Markets to close another converted Shop ’n Save store

This month, Schnuck Markets plans to shut down an underperforming store in Shrewsbury, Mo., marking the second former Shop ’n Save location to be shut in 2021. St. Louis-based Schnucks said Friday that it won’t renew the lease on the 77,000-square-foot Shrewsbury store, slated to expire on Nov. 13. Plans call for the location, at at 7057 Chippewa St., to close permanently at 4 p.m. on Sunday, June 2.

ST. LOUIS — A 16-year-old was shot in the stomach after police said he tried to steal a tip jar from a south St. Louis restaurant Thursday evening. Police said the teen and an acquaintance caused a disturbance at Utah Station, which is a restaurant in the 1900 block of Utah Street in the Benton Park neighborhood. They were asked to leave and on the way out, the teen stole the tip jar, according to a police report.

Former Dojo Pizza Owner Lauren Copp, Convicted of child pornography, but lost his appeal. Copp claimed his conviction was unjustified because he was not allowed to show a photo of his penis during the 2018 trial. A former karate teacher claimed that there was a bruise that did not match the sitting photo of a sex crime found on his computer. Except for the actual photo, he said he could have had his former selmate testify about the bruise.

ST. LOUIS ( -- A teen was shot in the stomach Thursday afternoon after allegedly stealing a tip jar and assaulting a customer at a south St. Louis City restaurant. According to the St. Louis Metropolitan Police Department, a 16-year old and another teen were causing a disturbance inside Utah Station restaurant, at the corner of Utah Street and Wisconsin Avenue in the Benton Park neighborhood. When the teens left, police say, the 16-year old stole a tip jar.
