The YMCA of Douglas County is hosting Water Safety Day on Saturday. The Y is encouraging parents to learn more about keeping kids safe in, on and around water. YMCA Membership/Marketing Amber Gries said the Y is the most accessible community resource to prevent drowning and encourage a lifelong enjoyment of swimming.

Carson City SWAT teams arrest Oregon prison escapee Friday

CARSON CITY, Nev. (News4-Fox11) — After nearly three weeks on the run, an escaped inmate from an Oregon prison camp was taken into custody in southern Carson City Friday. Dozens of law enforcement personnel surrounded a residential area around Schultz Drive at about 3:45 p.m. looking to arrest 38-year-old Andrew Cain Kristovich.

WOMAN JAILED FOLLOWING ALLEGED ANIMAL THEFT
