9-year-old killed in hit-and-run crash ID’d as Eudora girl, van ‘possibly associated’ found

KANSAS CITY, Mo. (KCTV) - Law enforcement stated Monday afternoon that it has found a van suspected to be involved in a crash that killed a child. The Douglas County Sheriff’s Office reported that Brooklyn Brouhard, a 9-year-old Eudora girl, was riding as a passenger on her grandpa’s motorcycle on East 1900 Road Saturday between Lawrence and Eudora about 5:15 p.m.

Weekend Douglas County Chase and Arrest

Douglas County, MO. – On the night of May 8, 2022 the Douglas County Sheriffs Office received numerous calls of a reckless driver on a motorcycle in the Goodhope area. Deputy Shawn Wilson located the motorcycle near the Plainview School and attempted to make a traffic stop on it at 0010 hours. The motorcycle immediately fled reaching speeds of over 100 miles per hour. Cpl. James Nelson and Deputy Sam Evans joined in the pursuit. The motorcycle lead Deputies on a 48 mile pursuit that ended in Ozark County near Gainesville at 0100 hours.

AVA, Mo. (KY3) - Douglas County deputies arrested a motorcyclist after a high-speed pursuit lasting 48 miles. Anthony Kutchko, 38, of Taneyville, Mo., faces resisting arrest by fleeing, causing substantial risk of injury, driving while intoxicated, careless, and Imprudent driving charges. A judge set his bond at $25,000 cash-only. Kutchko was released on probation for a domestic assault case.
