Teen charged in Albany death of 17-year-old

ALBANY, Ga. (WALB) - A teen has been charged in the shooting death of Khaliq Nykeem Jackson, 17, on June 6, according to the Albany Police Department (APD). APD said Zacharias Smith, 17, has been charged and booked into the Dougherty County Jail after Jackson was shot in the 200 block of Pine Bluff around 12:45 p.m. on Sunday.

Dawson man arrested on cocaine trafficking charge

DAWSON – Decarlo Shadon Williams, 42, of Terrell County, was arrested recently and charged with one count of trafficking cocaine. An investigation leading to Williams’ arrest began in late May when the GBI Southwestern Regional Drug Enforcement Office received information that large quantities of cocaine were being distributed in Dawson. The GBI, assisted by the Dawson Police Department and the Terrell County Sheriff’s Office, pursued the information, which resulted in the issuance of several search warrants during the course of the investigation.
