When Nick Saban alleged that Texas A&M purchased its recruiting class with NIL cash, Alabama’s coach wasn’t taking a direct shot at Jimbo Fisher. Saban was voicing his concerns with a new system of recruiting that he hadn’t quite been able to master. Texas A&M got a big jump on Alabama in the NIL game because Alabama state law at the time prevented the Crimson Tide’s big boosters from forming NIL collectives to lure recruits.
