Murray McCain, Jr. of Rochelle, Texas passed away on June 28, 2022 at the age of 85. Murray was born on July 29, 1936 in Valentine, Texas to Barcy and Murray McCain. He spent most of his school years in Rankin, where he graduated in 1954. On August 30, 1958, he married Yvonne Knox. He worked various jobs in the oil field, including 26 years for Schlumberger, and also lived in Crane, Odessa and Snyder. They enjoyed the last 24 years near Rochelle where they were members of the Rochelle Baptist Church.

After going several weeks without a significant rainfall, the immediate Brady area received a very good soaking last night as isolated thunderstorms moved into the area from the southeast. Storms began moving into Brady about 7PM and continued until past midnight. At times, rain was falling quite heavily in different parts of town.

The Brady Bulldogs 7 on 7 team made history as they finish Runner Up in the Division III 7 on 7 State Tournament held at College Station. They faced the Miles Bulldogs in the finals and fought hard, but Miles came out on top for the title 35-19. This was Brady's 5th game in about 4 and a half hours.

The Brady Community Involvement Committee in conjuction with Heritage Funeral Home will be holding thier drawing for a flat top grill plus 4 ribeye steaks at 5:15PM at Heritage Funeral Home. The drawing will be live streamed by Brady Today on Facebook. All proceeds will be used towards this year's fireworks display at Richards Park on July 2nd.

Once again, the Smoke on the Hill State Championship BBQ Cookoff will be rocking out Richards Park in Brady this coming weekend (June 17-18) with many activities. Along with the cookoff, there will be vendors, a corn hole tournament and live entertainment on Saturday night. The 18th annual event will benefit the Brady Volunteer Fire Department who will be selling barbeque plates all day on Saturday.
