A Siouxland community came together to rescue a dog early Monday monrning.

MANKATO, Minn. (KEYC) - The eastbound and westbound lanes on I-90 between Sherburn and Fairmont that were closed for construction are reopening temporarily. Construction on I-90 between Sherburn and Fairmont began on May 9. Since then, traffic has been reduced to a single lane in the eastbound lanes with westbound lanes also being closed off during construction.

Scott and Diane Benjamin from just outside the small town of Superior in northwest Iowa became interested in winemaking more than two decades ago. “We visited a winery in New Mexico about the time the whole Iowa winery movement started and just jumped in,” said Scott Benjamin. “We planted cold-hardy grapes and started the licensing and building process. We remodeled our now 100-year-old barn into a tasting room, gift shop and wine production area.”

A house fire in Blue Earth on Saturday, June 18, resulted in no injuries, but did displace two families. The fire call came in at 6:08 p.m. on Saturday. A duplex at 401 S. Galbraith Street in Blue Earth had the southwest side fully engulfed in flames and the fire was spreading to the attic of the home when firefighters arrived.

A Ceylon man was injured in a collision in Brown County Friday afternoon. Estherville, IA (KICD) — Estherville Police Officers and Firemen worked together to rescue an elderly dog early this morning. According to Police Chief Brent Shatto, the dog’s owner called the Estherville Police Department a little after 3 am this morning reporting that she could hear her dog barking from a ravine behind her house in the Orchard Lane neighborhood. Officers searched the area and found the dog, named Tupelo, in a sinkhole created by a drainage tile about 3 feet around and 3 feet deep.
