At 4:28 a.m. officers with the Prince William County Police Department responded to the 13900 block of Jefferson Davis Highway to investigate a shooting. When officers arrived, they found a woman in the nearby wooded area suffering from gunshot wounds. Police said she was pronounced dead at the scene.
