(ROLLA, MO) For bargain hunters there may be no better target than gas, with the cheapest station in the Rolla area offering savings of $0.01 per gallon. ZX at 1100 N Bishop Ave was the cheapest station in the area, according to a survey by GasBuddy, with regular listed at $2.79 per gallon Wednesday. By comparison, the most expensive gallon was at Sinclair at 2003 N Bishop Ave, where a gallon of regular was selling for $2.8.

Moniteau County accident involving horse-drawn vehicle is fatal for Versailles Harley driver Saturday afternoon

MONITEAU COUNTY, Mo. — A Versailles resident was killed in a Moniteau County accident Saturday afternoon. According to a Missouri State Highway Patrol report, Eric J. Nolt, 27, of Latham was driving a horse-drawn vehicle on Route E, north of Hazel Dell Drive, around 1:13 p.m. Saturday. A Harley Davidson Iron 883, driven by Samuel D. Schreck, 56, of Versailles, spooked the horse pulling Latham’s vehicle. The horse pulled the vehicle into the road ahead of Schreck’s motorcycle. The Harley struck the horse and Schreck was ejected. He was pronounced deceased at the scene by the Moniteau County Coroner.

UPDATE: Woman transported to hospital after being struck by a propeller at Noren River Access

COLUMBIA, Mo. (KMIZ) Around 7:00 p.m. Saturday, Missouri State Highway Patrol Troop F posted on twitter that one person had died at Noren River Access. After arriving to the scene, a state trooper told ABC 17 News that the woman was not confirmed dead. CPR was administered and she was transported to the hospital. Four injured in Clark County accident, teen taken by Air-Evac to hospital

CLARK, Mo. — Four people were injured in a Clark County accident Friday morning. According to a Missouri State Highway Patrol report, Eric W. Wood, 33, of Arbela, was driving a Dodge Ram 2500 on U.S. 136, about one mile west of Medill, around 11:55 a.m. Friday. His truck crossed the center line and struck a Jeep Wrangler that was being driven by Memphis, Missouri resident, Randy L. Sponseller, 65. Sponseller’s vehicle traveled off the right side of the roadway and overturned. Wood was moderately injured and transported by ambulance to Scotland County Hospital. Sponseller received minor injuries. His passengers, Valerie J. Sponseller, 66, and a female juvenile, 14, were seriously injured. Valerie Sponseller was transported by ambulance to Blessing Hospital for treatment. The teen was transported via Air-Evac to to Blessing Hospital.

Suburban St. Louis police chief resigns over Missouri’s new gun law

O’FALLON, Mo. (AP) - A suburban St. Louis police chief has resigned over concerns about a new Missouri law that would ban police from enforcing federal gun rules. The St. Louis Post-Dispatch reports that Philip Dupuis, who had been the police chief of the city of O’Fallon since October 2020, cited the “poor wording” and “unintended consequences” of the high-profile bill.


Two persons had to flown from the scene of a traffic crash involving three vehicles in Saline County on Friday, June 18. A report from the Missouri State Highway Patrol says the crash occurred as an eastbound vehicle, driven by 20-year-old Reed Branstetter, of Independence, traveled off the left side of the roadway, struck the median cables, continued onto the westbound lanes and struck a westbound vehicle, driven by 40-year-old Ashlie Lee, of Warsaw, which caused Lee’s vehicle to strike another westbound vehicle, driven by 47-year-old Andrew Dijohn, of Colorado Springs, Colorado.


A 52-year-old Waverly man had to be flown from the scene of a rollover all-terrain vehicle crash in Lafayette County on Friday, June 18. According to a report from the Missouri State Highway Patrol, the crash occurred as a westbound Polaris Ranger, driven by 44-year-old Stephen Hinson, of Waverly, overturned and partially ejected a passenger- David Heartman.

The body of a missing Miller County fisherman is found in the Osage River. The sheriff’s department was contacted Wednesday by a camper at the Osage-Tavern Conservation area near St. Elizabeth. The camper reported finding fishing gear along the bank, in a manner that indicated the fisherman might have fallen in. A vehicle believed to belong to the fisherman was also found nearby.

Two PA teens seriously injured in Callaway County accident Saturday morning

CALLAWAY COUNTY, Mo. — Two Pennsylvania teens were injured in a Callaway County accident Saturday morning. According to a Missouri State Highway Patrol report, a male, 17, of Waynesburg, Pennsylvania was driving a Toyota Tacoma westbound on Interstate-70 at the 144.2 mile marker around 11:25 a.m. Saturday. His vehicle traveled off the left side of the roadway, he overcorrected, the vehicle returned to the road and overturned. He and his female passenger, 17, also of Waynesburg, Pennsylvania, were both seriously injured. Both were transported to University Hospital in Columbia by Callaway County EMS for treatment.

'Disturbing and unnecessary prank': Body-like object prompts investigation in rural Missouri county

Warsaw Couple Injured in JoCo Accident

Two Warsaw residents were injured in a two-vehicle accident that occurred Thursday night in Johnson County. The Missouri State Highway Patrol reports that a southbound 2020 Hyundai Elantra, driven by 79-year-old Paul L. Alewine of Warsaw, attempted to cross US 50, 1,029 feet west of Route D, at 9:52 p.m., and failed to yield to a westbound 2010 Buick Enclave, driven by 49-year-old Byekwaso L. Gilbert of Kansas City.
