ELK CITY, Idaho — The Idaho County Sheriff’s Office (ICSO) reports that a missing Avista worker near Elk City, Idaho has been found. Kevin Vopat, 56, of Grangeville was working in an area near the American River on Tuesday. Around 6:30 p.m., Idaho County Dispatch received a report that Vopat was missing. The Sheriff’s Office said in a news release that he had not been seen since noon.

ELK CITY - On Tuesday, May 3, 2022 at approximately 6:30 p.m., Idaho County Dispatch received a report of a missing Avista worker in the American River area near Elk City, ID. According to reports, 56-year-old Kevin Vopat, of Grangeville, ID, had not been seen since around noon earlier that day.

An Avista Utilities worker who had been missing near Elk City was found early Wednesday morning. According to a news release from the Idaho County Sheriff’s Office, dispatchers received a call around 6:30 p.m. Tuesday that 56-year-old Ken Vopat, who was working in the American River area, hadn’t been seen since noon.
