Former Dallas Officer Charged With Capital Murder Sues Homicide Detective Who He Says Falsely Accused Him

A Black man who was ousted from the Dallas Police Department after being charged with capital murder last year is suing the homicide detective he says falsely accused him. Bryan Riser launched a lawsuit against Detective Esteban Montenegro on May 5 over claims Montenegro wrongfully orchestrated his arrest last year, WFAA reports. The lawsuit accuses the detective of violating Riser’s civil rights by falsely accusing him in a case that was later found to have no probable cause.

Dallas, Texas – Dallas police found a dead body on Sunday and they were informed by the Irving police the body is probably a man reported missing on Friday. According to the Irving police, the department issued a Silver Alert on Friday after the 69-year-old Sabino Hernandez was reported missing. Officials with the department said the missing man was last seen in the 2200 block of Riverview Drive on Friday.

Bishop Cider is a Texas craft cidery on the grow. The Bishop brand currently has a tasting room in the heart of the Bishop Arts neighborhood of Dallas. Bishop also operates three locations of its Cidercade concept (Dallas, Austin and Houston), which is basically a cool bar arcade with eats. Construction is currently underway on Cidercade Fort Worth, located just south of downtown. It will be the largest Cidercade to date at 25,000 sq ft (expected to open by the end of summer). To continue to grow, the company is also making some acquisitions — some for interesting reasons.

A restaurant owner in Texas did something to help out with the big baby formula shortage that’s going on. He was able to buy hundreds of cans of it from his food distributor and then gave it away for free. He says he just wanted to do something to pay people back for all the support they gave his restaurant after the covid hit.
