LYNNDYL, Millard County — A town of 120 people in Millard County is out of water and a county official is seeking public assistance to get the town through the long weekend. Lynndyl is about 16 miles northeast of Delta and six miles from the closest town of Leamington. According to Millard County Commissioner Dean Draper, the town operates on two wells to serve the needs of residents and livestock, and without water, the situation is urgent.

Failed Wells in Lynndyl

City officials in Lynndyl say there is nothing to fear after their wells completely failed. In a post to the Lynndyl Town Facebook page it was shared that initially there were pump issues at the city wells but things went from bad to worse when the wells failed. The post shared concerns over inaccuracies recently shared by some state news outlets and stated “the wells are not dry and the national guard is not on its way.”

Wildfires keep crews busy on warm, windy Sunday in Utah

FILLMORE, Utah, June 13, 2022 (Gephardt Daily) — Warm temperatures and strong winds made things difficult Sunday for firefighters battling a wildfire in Millard County. State fire officials say the Canyon Fire started about 2:30 p.m. and burned an estimated 15 acres east of Canyon Road in Fillmore. By 5:30 p.m., crews were able to stop the fire’s progress, according to Utah Fire Info. No structures were damaged.
