1 dead following shooting, crash in Federal Way

FEDERAL WAY, Wash. — A man in his 20s is dead following an argument, shooting, and crash Friday night in Federal Way. Officials said officers responded after 8:30 p.m. to a collision near the 35300 block of 21st Avenue Southwest and upon arrival, it was revealed that a shooting might have led to the crash.

Construction worker shot in Federal Way

FEDERAL WAY, Wash. — A construction worker was shot in Federal Way on Friday morning when a man came out of the woods and shot him in the shoulder, according to the King County sheriff’s office. The shooting occurred on the 2000 block of South 360th Street in Federal Way.

CDC: Delta variant as contagious as chickenpox, KIRO 7 asks the experts what that means

KING COUNTY, Wash. — The delta variant, first detected in India, is taking off in Washington and quickly multiplying. Doctors say it is seeking out the unvaccinated. “Residents who are not vaccinated are 10 times more likely to test positive for COVID-19, 15 times more likely to be hospitalized with COVID-19, and 12 times more likely to die,” said Dr. Jeff Duchin of Public Health Seattle and King County.

Water rescue for grandmother in Carney Lake now recovery

PIERCE COUNTY, Wash. — A water rescue for a 62-year-old woman who went underwater Friday at Carney Lake is now a recovery mission. Firefighters with Key Peninsula Fire said they were called to the lake after a group reported hearing someone else had gone under as the lake sits on a boundary between Kitsap and Pierce counties.

COVID-19 case reported in person at crowded council meeting

LYNNWOOD, Wash. — Officials in the Seattle suburb of Lynnwood said Friday that a person who attended a crowded city council meeting on Monday has tested positive for COVID-19. Anyone who attended the meeting should monitor for virus symptoms and consider getting tested for COVID-19, Lynnwood officials said in a news release.
