Bunker Man Serious Injuries in Dent County Crash

(Dent County) A man from Bunker was seriously injured Monday morning following a pickup truck accident in Dent County. The Missouri State Highway Patrol says the accident took place on Dent County Road 6040, a mile south of Highway 32 when 29-year-old Brent Strange swerved his pickup to avoid another vehicle that was not identified.

Dent County man seriously injured in crash north of Edgar Springs

A Dent County man is seriously injured in a crash north of Edgar Springs. The Missouri State Highway Patrol says Brent Strange, 29, of Bunker, was driving on County Road 6040, about a mile south of Highway 32 Monday morning when the crash occurred. Troopers say Strange swerved to avoid another vehicle, ran off the road, overcorrected, ran off the other side of the road and hit a fence and a tree.

Council for a Healthy Dent County receives $500 MRCF community grant for Project RISE

SALEM—Meramec Regional Community Foundation (MRCF) awarded the Council for a Healthy Dent County with a $500 grant for Project RISE. The checks were presented at MRCF’s March meeting at MRPC in St. James. This year, the MRCF board reviewed a total of 22 grant applications, requesting a total of $10,905 and representing projects in Crawford, Dent, Gasconade, Maries, Osage, Phelps, Pulaski and Washington counties. Council for a Healthy Dent County was one of three projects selected for funding.

Man Accused of Shooting Spree in Kosh Business to be Tried for Murder, Assaults June 24

West Plains, MO. – The man accused in the death of one person and shooting others in April of 2021 will stand trial in Dent County on June 24. Christopher L. Lindley, age 30 of Thayer, is charged with 1st Degree Murder, five 1st Degree Assault charges, and six Armed Criminal Action Charges from an incident that occurred on April 10, 2021 at the Koshkonong Snappy Mart.

PHA’s annual plan open for comment

The Phelps County Public Housing Agency (PHA) will host a public hearing to accept comments on the PHA’s annual plan at 2 p.m., May 10 at MRPC, 4 Industrial Drive, St. James. The Phelps County PHA provides HUD Section 8 rental assistance to persons in the counties of Crawford, Dent, Gasconade, Maries, Phelps (outside the city of Rolla) and Washington.
