Over $82,000 worth of meth seized in Stone County

Two Mountain View residents have been arrested and charged with trafficking meth and marijuana during a large-scale drug bust, according to Stone County Sheriff Lance Bonds. A release from the sheriff’s department said deputies were searching for Jennifer Mannon, 38, on a warrant for parole absconding. On June 23, deputies located Mannon at a Pitard Loop residence and placed her under arrest. The release said three bags of methamphetamine were observed in the residence.

At the Clinton School of Public Service 6 p.m. Wednesday, June 29, is a discussion on “The LGBTQ+ Community and the Future of the American Church.” Speakers are Frederick A. Davie, senior strategic advisor to the president at Union Theological Seminary; James Martin, SJ, is a Jesuit priest; and Sarah Wilke, director of global relations for the Institute for Discipleship, discussing “how their faith traditions have responded to issues of human sexuality that remain at the foreground of deep divisions within many of the largest Christian denominations in the United States.” Frank Lockwood, religion editor of the Arkansas Democrat-Gazette, moderates.

17-year-old pronounced dead after being found unresponsive in vehicle

MARSHALL, Ark. (KSLA) - According to the Marshall Police Department, a 17-year-old girl is dead after being found unresponsive inside a vehicle. Officers received a call for service in the 1800 block of Olive Street at 4 p.m. on Tuesday, June 21. The Marshall Police Department responded, along with an MPD detective who was in the area.

Mountain Home legion baseball teams sweep Clinton

It was a sweep at home for the Mountain Home American Legion baseball teams Thursday night as both picked up wins over Clinton. The Lockeroom team got a big night from Mason Walker in a 7-2 win. Walker had four hits, including two home runs and a double, and drove in four runs. Logen Walker was the winning pitcher.
