The Maumee Valley Planning Organization in Defiance is updating the region’s comprehensive economic development strategy…covering Defiance, Fulton, Henry, Paulding and Williams counties, with public participation encouraged. The counties’ economic development offices are all working with the MVPO to update the strategy focused on retaining workforce, supporting key infrastructure improvements and marketing the region as a place to live, work and visit. Man, woman injured in Defiance County crash

DEFIANCE, Ohio (WANE) – Two people were seriously injured in a two-car crash that happened in Florence Township, Ohio on Saturday evening. Police say 26-year-old Phillip Richmond of Montpelier, Ohio was driving west on County Road H and didn’t yield to the right of way, causing him to be hit by 79-year-old Bonnie Mills. Mills was heading north on State Route 49 at the time of the crash.

Alys was born July 27, 1932 in Defiance County, OH to Fred R. and Marvilla (Scott) Kohart. She had two sisters, Phyllis and Dorothy and three brothers, Franklyn, David and Alan. She married Bernard (Barney) M. Keck at the Methodist Parsonage, Grover Hill, OH on September 29, 1950. They had three children: Scott (Hazel) Keck of Defiance, OH; Stephen (Cindy) Keck of Parrish, FL and Jennifer (Paul) Sheffer of Dryden, MI, as well as five beloved grandchildren, Libby (Eric) Steeves of Dayton, OH; Mandy (Chris) Keck-Priest of Defiance, OH, Michael Keck of Austin, TX; David (Melissa) Elias of New Haven, MI and Bernard (Erin) Elias of Frankenmuth, MI. Alys had seven great grandchildren.
