1 facing drug charges after Wausau crash

One person is facing criminal charges in connection with a single-vehicle crash Thursday in Wausau, according to the Wausau Police Department. Police and rescue crews were called at 1:49 p.m. Thursday to the 800 block of McIndoe Street for a vehicle that crashed into a tree. The driver and sole occupant was unconscious and not breathing.

Brickner honors grandfather with victory in his memory at State Park

WAUSAU, Wis. (June 23) – A night honoring his grandpa could not have turned out much better for Jerry Brickner at State Park Speedway Thursday night. Brickner won the highlight event in the first Jerome E. Brickner Memorial, taking the 60-lap Auto Select Super Late Model feature. The win was his first feature victory of the season and first in nearly five years in a super late model at the track.

Wausau-area woman facing homicide charges in 2021 overdose death

A Weston woman is facing reckless homicide charges in connection with the overdose death of a 41-year-old man whose body was discovered at a Kronenwetter home. Police and rescue crews responded on July 29, 2021 to a home on Sunny Meadow Drive for a report of a man who was cold to the touch and non-responsive. The man was dead before crews arrived. A spoon, multiple medications and a substance that later tested positive for heroin/opioids was nearby, according to the criminal complaint.
