Following a work session, Central Decatur School Board members selected a design firm to create a Facilities Master Plan for the district during their May meeting. FEH Design was selected for the development of the Facilities Master Plan and develop a plan for door entries, safety and security, and HVAC Projects.

Decatur County wreck injures 2

(Davis City) -- Two Mount Ayr residents were injured in a one-vehicle accident in Decatur County Thursday afternoon. The Iowa State Patrol says the accident occurred on Highway 69 west of Dale Miller Road at around 3 p.m. Authorities say a 1995 Chevy Blazer driven by 50-year-old Debra Sue Percifield was westbound on 69 west of Davis City when it exited the road onto the road shoulder. After the driver overcorrected, the vehicle lost control and slid off the road, entering the left ditch. The vehicle then rolled in the ditch until coming to rest on its right side.

Two Hurt in Decatur County Crash

(Davis City) Two people suffered injuries in a single-vehicle rollover crash near Davis City in Decatur County. The Iowa State Patrol says the accident happened at 3:00 p.m. on Thursday on Highway 69 west of Dale-Miller Road. Authorities say 50-year-old Debra Sue Percifield of Mount Ayr suffered serious injuries, and a family member transported her passenger, 20-year-old Crystal Hughes, of Mount Ayr to the Decatur County Hospital.

Two Mount Ayr Residents Injured in Rollover Accident

DAVIS CITY, IA – Two Ringgold County residents were injured when their SUV rolled over in an accident Thursday afternoon in Decatur County. The Iowa State Patrol says 50-year old Debra Percifield and 20-year old Crystal Hughes, both of Mount Ayr, were westbound on Highway 69, west of Davis City when the SUV went off the roadway onto the shoulder. Percifield attempted to bring the vehicle back to the roadway, but she overcorrected and lost control. The vehicle slid off the roadway into the ditch before rolling over and coming to rest on the passenger side.

The Iowa State Patrol reports two Ringgold County women were injured during an SUV rollover accident Thursday afternoon, in Decatur County. The Patrol says a 1995 Chevy Blazer driven by 50-year-old Debra Sue Percifield and accompanied by 20-year-old Crystal Hughes, both of Mount Ayr, was traveling westbound on Highway 69, west of Davis City, when the SUV drove off the road and onto the right shoulder. Percifield tried to come back onto the road, but she over-corrected and lost control.

Fishing on a gorgeous, fall day

I went fishing on Monday. The pond south of Lamoni, two miles north of the Missouri state line. It was unusual to fish in short sleeves in early November in Iowa, but it was a gorgeous day – 66 degrees, almost no breeze, bright sun. The pond is about two-and-a-half acres, nestled in a protected area, so the light southwest wind didn’t disturb us at all. The pond surface was like glass.
