Rain continues overnight; the sun makes an appearance Thursday

A steady, soaking rain continues to drop on southeast Nebraska Thursday evening. Two-day rain totals range from a half inch of rain in Kearney to around 2″ of rain in Beatrice. If you recently planted grass in your lawn, you are happy! I also suspect with warmer temperatures arriving for the weekend, grass will shoot up quickly!

Beatrice Humane Society takes part in Give to Lincoln Day

LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) – The Beatrice Humane Society may seem like an odd recipient of a Lincoln fundraiser, but the group does a lot of work beyond the city in its name. “We did over 1,100 adoptions last year. Over 600 of those were done in Lincoln,” Vice Chair Timoree Klinger said. “We have a lot of supporters in Lincoln who come to Beatrice to adopt animals from us.”
