DELAND — For the first time, Juneteenth National Independence Day was an official federal holiday on Saturday. For the 400 or so people who gathered at Earl Brown Park in DeLand, it was a celebration mixed with an educational twist that included help on how to navigate Florida's new voting law.

3.9 magnitude earthquake measured off Florida’s east coast

PONCE INLET, Fla. — A reported 3.9 magnitude earthquake off the Florida’s east coast Friday was actually an “experimental explosion,” the U.S. Navy confirmed. A spokesperson with the Navy told Action News Jax that what was measured were a result of military “shock trials” and they are not unusual, nor is it unusual for them to register as earthquakes.

Gas savings: The cheapest station in Daytona Beach

(DAYTONA BEACH, FL) Depending on where you fill up in Daytona Beach, you could be saving up to $0.37 per gallon on gas. Sam's Club at 1460 Cornerstone Blvd was the cheapest station in the area, according to a survey by GasBuddy, with regular listed at $2.72 per gallon Wednesday. By comparison, the most expensive gallon was at Sunoco at 645 N Atlantic Ave, where a gallon of regular was selling for $3.09.

Top Flagler County transaction: $2.45 million

A house in Ocean Hammock was the top real estate transaction for the week of May 13-19 in Flagler County in the Multiple Listing Service. Sabrina Bent, of New Orleans, sold 532 Cinnamon Beach Lane to Harbor Blvd. LLC, of Plano, Texas, for $2.45 million. Built in 2007, the house is a 5/5 and has a swimming pool, elevator, dune walk and 5,941 square feet. Following is a partial list of other transactions for the week.
